Maintenance Group

 

Overview The men and women of the 180th maintenance group are tasked with the responsibility of maintaining the unit's assigned aircraft and equipment in a flying and fighting condition. Experts in the fields of: Aircraft Mechanics, Support Equipment Mechanics, Welders, Munitions Experts, Electronics/Avionics Technicians, Weapons Technicians, Painters, Wheel/Tire Mechanics, Sheet Metal Workers, Jet Engine Mechanics, Pneudraulic Mechanics and Non-Destructive Inspectors, all take pride in supporting the motto: "No aircraft turns a wheel until we turn a wrench". 

Mission
Our Mission is to provide all logistical support necessary for fighter operations. We procure, transport, store and issue the assets necessary to support operations of the base and all its missions. We maintain mission readiness of all equipment and stand prepared for immediate deployment of wartime tasking.

Organization
We accomplish our mission within maintenance with the 180th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, the 180th Maintenance Squadron and the 180th Maintenance Operations Flight.

The 180th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron has the mission of providing mission ready aircraft to meet the operational requirements of the 180th Fighter Wing. The squadron includes the following: Sortie Generation Flight and Sortie Support Flight.

The 180th Maintenance Squadron has the mission of providing the maintenance on the aircraft systems and munitions in order to meet the operational requirements of the 180th Fighter Wing. The squadron includes the following: Component Repair Flight and Equipment Maintenance Flight.
