Gary Bentley Public Affairs Mansfield, Ohio -- 180th Fighter Wing Makes Clean Sweep of Ohio Air National Guard Awards Awards Earned Include: Oustanding Public Affairs Program Unit Newsletter of The Year The award recipient(s) are chosen from the four flying units in the Ohio Air National Guard by an evaluation board of officers appointed by the Chief of Staff. The rating process focuses on the key elements of a sound public affairs program and newsletter. The board reviews each unit's overall program/newsletter purpose, target audience, and quantifiable results. Outstanding Medical Group: This award is presented to the most outstanding medical group in the Ohio Air National Guard for the calendar year. Evaluation is based on each group's overall achievements and contributions to the medical profession, unit, community, state and nation. Ground Safety Award: The recipient of this award is selected from all units in the Ohio Air National Guard. Evaluation criteria include training, meetings, inspections, lost time, and unit safety initiatives. These initiatives are then rated based on performance relating to unit mission, personnel safety, environmental safety and enhanced public image. Flying Safety Award: The recipient of this award is selected from all units in the Ohio Air National Guard by an evaluation board. The evaluation encompasses training, plans, assessments, emergency response, maintenance activities, flight management, accident information, and unit safety initiatives. These initiatives are based upon performance in one or more o fthe following areas: mission, personal safety, environmental safety, and public image improvement.
