Capt. Brian Cherolis, F-16 pilot with the 180th Fighter Wing, explains key components of the F-16 to Maj. Gen. Deborah Ashenhurst, Ohio National Guard Adjutant General, to the hanging harness parachute simulator prior to a familiarization flight. The 180th Fighter Wing hosted Maj. Gen. Ashenhurst for an F-16 familiarization flight over the Grayling Range in Northern Michigan Nov., 3. Ashenhurst completed aircrew flight equipment and life support training and took to the skies for an up-close look at how the 180th FW supports joint combat operations to protect and support ground forces. Maj. Gen. Ashenhurst is responsible for the military preparedness of the Ohio Organized Militia, which includes the Ohio Army and Air National Guard.
