Stingers Travel to Alpena to Train
Pilots with the 180th Fighter Wing in Swanton, Ohio simulate flying combat operations at Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena, Michigan on June 21. More than 6,000 rounds and 70,000 pounds of munitions were dropped at the Grayling Air Gunnery Range. An increased operational tempo provides an opportunity to assess the 180FW’s ability to conduct surge operations similar to what is experienced in a deployed combat scenario.
