Air Force Lt. Col. John Griffiths, the assistant officer-in-charge for Smoky Mountain Medical Innovative Readiness Training from the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, speaks to the Clay County Commissioners Board thanking them for their partnership and hospitality in Hayesville, N.C., on Aug. 3, 2017. Smoky Mountain Medical IRT provides no cost medical, dental, vision and veterinary services to the residents of Swain County, Clay County and the surrounding areas while satisfying training requirements for active, reserve and National Guard service members and units.
