A Teacher at Heart
1st Lt. Ashley Chapa, director of equal opportunity, assigned to the Ohio National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing, works with students, Kinslee Thorton and Charlie Rains, on proper letter formation at Liberty Center Elementary School where she works as an intervention specialist with the school’s special education program. Growing up in a home where education was valued, Chapa intended to make teaching a career, but it was her dream to serve her country that came first. Now she has the best of both worlds, teaching America’s youth and teaching her fellow Airmen. (Air National Guard photo by Beth Holliker).
